Thanks for the interesting teardown. I thought this device might be nice for modding, e.g. with a Raspberry board inside, when I recently saw a review at Techmoan.. but unfortunately, the CC0702i40L display is only 1024x600, not 1080p as they claim on the box. Other than that, it seems to have rather well chosen components.

The problem with Shargeek products is that they're not maintenance friendly... The construction doesn't allow you to replace battery cells if they go faulty (or even upgrade them with higher capacity 21700). You end up damaging the case and desoldering/resoldering is needed. The price is high so I expect products containing hi-quality components AND to be easy to maintain.
